IGNACIO BERGILLOS

I am a Lecturer at the Centre d’Ensenyament Superior Alberta Giménez in Mallorca. I received my PhD in 2015 after defending my thesis on Spanish digital television and participatory culture at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The dissertation received the extraordinary doctoral award and the 28th Award from the Consell Audiovisual de Catalunya for best research in Communication in 2016.

I am interested in media technology and innovation, the changing logics of the media industries and the relationship between audiences and professionals within the framework of participatory culture.

 I was born in San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Madrid) and raised in Marbella (Málaga). I currently live and work in Palma de Mallorca.
